This afternoon EUROCONTROL Network Manager (NM) organised a teleconference to discuss latest developments in relation to outbreak of Ebola in West Africa and possible impact on aviation in Europe. The teleconference was attended by representatives of World Health Organisation (WHO), ICAO, IATA, ACI, EC (DG MOVE and DG SANCO), EASA and NM.
Impacted States include: Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Consequently, WHO issued Travel and transport risk assessment: Recommendations for public health authorities and transport sector – see http://www.who.int/ith/updates/20140421/en/ .
EUROCONTROL Network Manager (NM) will continue to monitor the situation in close cooperation with its partners and provide any relevant updates.
