Between May 7 and 9 a.c., at the Parliament Palace, takes place the SUMMIT ON CYBER SECURITY IN CIVIL AVIATION - EUROPE, THE MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA (EMEA) organized by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) in cooperation with the Romanian Author.
ICAO Secretary General Dr. Fang LIU will lead the ICAO delegation, which includes Catalin Radu, ICAO Deputy Director for Aviation Safety, and Sylvain Lefoyer, ICAO Deputy Director for Aviation Security.
High-level representatives of NATO, EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, EUROCONTROL, the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will participate in debates on cyber security in civil aviation, together with representatives of the responsible authorities in the field of civil aviation in Africa and the Middle East, specialists in the fight against cybercrime, of the profile industry and as well as other government representatives.
Cyber security is becoming one of the main concerns of the authorities responsible for ensuring aviation security and safety, in this context, the officials present at the summit will present the available methods for assessing cyber security risks, how to classify them and the methods of prevention and response to cyber incidents.
The organization of the first ICAO summit in Bucharest demonstrates the interest and concern of the Romanian civil aviation to be a contributor and a facilitator for consolidating the dialogue and cooperation at the highest level between the international authorities with responsibilities in the field of aviation, on issues of risks and vulnerabilities. responsiveness as well as increased resilience to cyber incidents.
