In the panel on Cyber Security, the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority stressed the importance of adopting a predictive and holistic approach to cyber security in civil aviation, which is conditioned by both national and international legislative harmonization and effective cooperation between authorities and stakeholders. The aviation security and safety industries are working together to develop an integrated cyber security framework to ensure the implementation of a set of specific proactive and reactive measures for national civil aviation. Steps are also being taken to prepare and adapt cybersecurity capabilities to properly manage the challenges posed by emerging technologies, in order to increase cyber resilience and protect the entire civil aviation industry and passengers.
Innovation and digitalisation for the air transport industry has been one of the most debated topics on the conference agenda, as according to experts, passenger traffic will double by 2037, which is a major challenge for the air transport industry and governments that need to imposes new standards, technologies, harmonized regulations in the field, as well as an adequate infrastructure.
Consumer protection and the impact of aviation on the environment were important topics for the attention of the officials present at the conference. In their view, projects, programs and regulations on protecting consumer rights and reducing carbon emissions should be coordinated globally to produce significant results, and to this end entities should strengthen cooperation, exchange of good practices and information. .
