On September 29 a.c., took place in Bucharest, the High Level Meeting on Civil-Military Cooperation in Aviation in Conflict Areas. The event, held under the high patronage of the Romanian Government, was organized by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), together with the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority (AACR), the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of National Defense, with the support of ROMATSA. The meeting was attended by high-level representatives from Europe, the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the European Commission (Directors of the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs), the European Union Military Committee (EUMC), NATO, the European Department of Combating Terrorism within the European External Action Service (EEAS), EUROCONTROL, FRONTEX as well as representatives of defense institutions from several states. On behalf of Romania, the meeting was also attended by representatives of institutions in the field of defense, security and national security as well as in the field of civil aviation.
As a result of the discussions that took place, two directions of action emerged:
- the establishment of a High Level Group that will elaborate a scheme and a methodology for alert systems that will facilitate an immediate reaction from the entities affected in their activity, by the risks generated in the conflict areas.
- the development at European level, under the auspices of EASA, of a contact network in risk situations, in order to urgently provide the exchange of information, between the entities from the civil aviation, as well as the military one.
