The Governing Council is the main representative body of DANUBE FAB. It represents DANUBE FAB in relation to third parties, other functional airspace blocks, as well as in all cases that require such representation or coordination. At the same time, the Governing Council is responsible for the adoption of the Strategic Program of DANUBE FAB, of the Annual Plan and ensures the management of the modification process of DANUBE FAB in accordance with Chapter 10 of the State Level Agreement. The Council adopts decisions on the establishment of cross - border sectors and adopts and proposes for approval to the state authorities in the field of transport and national defense, decisions at strategic level on DANUBE FAB airspace policy.
On February 21, 2013, the first meeting of the DANUBE FAB Governing Council took place in Sinaia. At the first meeting, the members of the Council discussed and adopted a number of important decisions for the proper functioning of DANUBE FAB. Among these we mention the Rules of Procedure of the Governing Council, the Rules of Procedure of the Airspace Policy Body, etc. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Bulgaria in autumn 2013.
