The new requirements for the flight plan shall take effect on 15 November 2012.
Thus, all entities involved in the production, submission and processing of flight plan specific data, such as pilots / aircraft operators, air navigation service providers and more, must be prepared to apply the new requirements.
Although the main changes concern the notification of new equipment and capabilities available on board aircraft, it must be borne in mind that there are changes, such as the date of flight "DOF" and the significance of standard equipment "S", which will affect all pilots and aircraft operators flying.
In order to ensure a smooth transition to the new requirements, AACR recommends:
- use of the new flight plan format in accordance with the planning and data contained in the AIC 02/2012 Aeronautical Information Circular available at www.aisro.ro/Publications/AIC;
- use of the COM / NAV / SUR information completion guide;
- consult the EUROCONTROL website at http://www.eurocontrol.int/articles/icao-flight-planning-modifications-2012 for more information.
