"The Romanian Civil Aviation Authority (AACR) is a robust, highly reactive institution, with a stable position in the aviation system, with well-trained, competent and motivated staff.", These are the conclusions of the team of inspectors of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, after a week of comprehensive standardization inspection in the field of aerodromes, performed at the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, between 11 and 15 February 2019.
This standardization inspection was carried out in accordance with the Agency's program for monitoring the application by EU Member States of Regulation (EU) No 182/2011. 2018/1139 (1) and Regulation (EU) no. 139/2014 (2) and aimed at assessing the capacity of the AACR to fulfill its responsibilities for aerodrome safety oversight.
In the recommendations issued by the inspectors of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, the importance of strengthening the AACR's capacity to require improvements to the aerodrome infrastructure as well as the non-compliance registration and monitoring system was emphasized.
