With the theme "Innovation in Aviation", this year's Forum organized by ICAO in Montreal from September 22 to 23 is designed for senior government officials responsible for aviation, transportation, science and technology, finance, economic planning, trade , development and international cooperation, as well as from other key portfolios in partnership with the aeronautical industry and high-tech companies.
Within the Forum, where the Romanian delegation led by the Director General of AACR also participates, the interactive sessions are expected to lead to the development of policies, business models, regulatory and governance processes that will generate innovation for the development of sustainable aviation. Moreover, access to state-of-the-art technologies can contribute to the earlier achievement of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, set out in the UN 2030 Agenda and supports the ICAO “No Country Left Behind (NCLB)” initiative.
The No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative highlights ICAO's efforts to assist states in implementing the organization's standards and best practices (SARPs). The main objective of this Initiative is to help ensure the overall harmonization and implementation of ICAO rules, so that all states have access to the significant socio-economic benefits of safe and reliable air transport.
The Forum also hosts the Innovation Fair in Montreal, which presents a series of new technologies and ideas that are being applied or can be applied in the field of aviation.
