Since 2014, AACR has been involved as a junior partner, in collaboration with the French aeronautical authority, in the consortium formed by France and Romania, in the institutional twinning projects:
LN 12 IB TR 01 LA 12 IB TR 01 “Strengthening of the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority” and
TR 11 IB TR 01 “Strengthening Institutional and Administrative Capacity of Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Turkey / Strengthening the institutional and administrative capacity of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Turkey”.
These were the first projects of this kind in which AACR was involved and through this involvement Romania absorbed a total of almost 225,000 Euro (157,207.08 Euro from the TR 11 IB TR 01 project and 67,765.46 Euro from the AL 12 IB TR 01 project ).
The aeronautical inspectors from the airworthiness, air operations and aeronautical personnel certification, aerodromes and air navigation departments and the security auditors from the aeronautical and cyber security directorate participated. These activities have gained experience for AACR staff, familiarization with the working methods of other civil aviation authorities, creating an exchange of professional views at the level of specialists, strengthening confidence in the professional capabilities of AACR and last but not least increasing the level of cooperation between France and Romania at the level of civil aviation aeronautical authorities.
Recently, the European Commission's audit of the two projects was successfully completed, on which occasion the projects were officially declared completed.
