The Romanian Civil Aviation Authority received, on 04.11.2019, the distinction offered by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in recognition of significant progress in the field of aviation safety. The "Certificate of the President of the ICAO Council" was handed over to the Director General of AACR.
By awarding this distinction, Romania is recognized, in addition to significant progress in air safety management and improving the effective implementation of standards and practices recommended by ICAO (SARPs) as well as the role of initiator of the program for the development of a cyber security strategy in aviation, worldwide.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, established by the states in 1944 to manage the administration and governance of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention). Romania joined ICAO in 1965, currently the organization has 193 member states.
