In order for the medical protective equipment against Covid 19 to arrive urgently in the Romanian hospitals, AACR was proactively involved in the procedures for organizing two flights from China, which landed at Henri Coandă International Airport, not long ago. To complete the approval procedures, the AACR team was organized so that the documents were processed urgently, and the two aircraft received flight approvals in record time.
The mission to approve the two flights with medical equipment was a first for carriers, operators, agents, beneficiaries, state authorities, and the collaboration and cooperation between these entities was a challenge and the work against the clock, those involved satisfied that due to their proactivity common medical supplies to reach Romanian hospitals in record time.
A challenge was also to identify the solutions for approving the documents regarding the safe landing and within the operating limits of the runway / take-off runway of Henri Coandă International Airport, respecting the compliance with the certification conditions.
In this mission, the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority had the role of advising and coordinating an inter-institutional communication network, in real time, involving even the diplomatic staff of the Romanian Embassy in Beijing, so that the anti-Covid-19 protection equipment urgently reaches doctors, medical staff and patients in Romania.
The two high-capacity aircraft, Antonov An-124-100M-150 and Boeing 747-412 (BCF), carried protective medical equipment, gloves, masks, coveralls, visors, etc., ordered by the National Company "Unifarm" S.A.
Also, the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority provides continuous specialized support and assistance to the two air operators TAROM and Blue Air, in medical equipment transport missions, as well as to other operators that are to carry out humanitarian and cargo missions, in combating Covid - 19.
