AACR has installed a new version of the database with questions for the theoretical examinations for obtaining the private pilot license (PPL). Thus, in order to obtain the private pilot license, the students will take the theoretical tests on the computer, with a set of questions randomly selected by the software, a unique questionnaire, generated for each student. This method of examination, using a database and a software questionnaire generator, is used by several European countries, including Germany and Austria.
In the next period, AACR inspectors will test the functionality of the database and will implement the question selection scheme in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The platform will be used for the examination of private airplane and helicopter pilots (PPL (A) and PPL (H) licenses), starting in January 2020, in English. The examination in Romanian will be implemented by May 2020.
AACR's aeronautical inspectors are also working on a new version of the regulations on the organization and conduct of theoretical examinations for private pilot and helicopter pilot licenses, PIAC-CPN. The procedure will be published on the AACR website for public consultation, and interested parties may propose amendments.
