AACR, as national supervisory authority, has accepted the introduction into operation by ROMATSA of phase 1 of the new ATM 2015+ air traffic management system, produced by the Spanish company INDRAS Sistemas, which functions as a basic operating system in the provision of services. of air traffic in the Bucharest Flight Information Region (FIR Bucharest).
The new ATM 2015+ system represents a step forward in Romania's objective to align with the General Air Traffic Management Plan at European level (European ATM Master Plan) and to implement the development concepts generated by the SESAR program of the European Union.
The ATM2015 + system is developed in order to improve the safety of air traffic management in FIR Bucharest and is designed to operate on a modern architecture, which integrates the concept "Open Architecture" defined by SESAR, a concept that will allow further development, scalable.
The new ATM system 2015+ will allow to increase the capacity in the Romanian airspace, it is a modern and flexible tool for air traffic controllers, it contains functions that will facilitate the transition from the current planning and operation of flights based on flight plan, to the concept operations based on the 4D flight path and last but not least the implementation of the service through the data link between the air traffic services from the ground and the aircraft in flight.
After going through the testing and operation stages in parallel with the old SELEX system, starting with April 4, 2019, the system came into operational use during the night, and starting with 00:00 on April 9, 2019, it will fully enter H24 in operational use.
